Fish for Planted tank

I have a 46 gal. bowfront planted with a java fern covered piece of upright driftwood that covers the the left rear corner; the right rear have a smaller piece of drift wood with an anubias nana growing on it; and the floor of the aquarium has various crypts growing from it. The tank is filtered by two Penguin 330s. The temp range is 75-78F. I don't use CO2 and I have 92 watts of light.

The tank has 4 bosemani rainbows, three dwarf gouramis, two albino cories, one golden algae eater, one flying fox and three clown plecos.

I am looking to add some background plants for the middle of the tank and a school of 6 smaller fish (tetras, platies, etc).

What plants and fish do you think I should add? Why?
