Pressure reg settings?

What PSI does everyone set there pressure regulators to? Right now mine is around 10 PSI. I've been having a bit of trouble getting a steady bubble rate and I think I need to turn it down. Just the littlest touch of my needle valve will make a huge diffrence in bubble rate. should I be turning the PSI up or down?

75 gallon, fillstar xp2 with inline reactor, 12 Lb pressurised co2, 4.2 WPG-corallife 3x96 watt PC-, fluorite/silica-sand substright.

I found I needed about 20 psi at first to get a steady bubble rate with my Milwaukee combo regulator. I finally turned it down to about 15 psi and it still did ok. But, at 10 when I first set it up, the bubble rate would always slowly drop to zero, or be way too high. Part of the problem I had was the pressure it took to open the check valve was a bit high.

I've been setting my needle valve to get a low bubble rate at a low pressure. Then I adjust the rate by adjusting the regulator upwards.
In other words, coarse adjustment with the needle valve and fine with the regulator.

It took some experimenting to find the where to set the needle valve, but this method seems to work well for me. Fine adjustment with the needle valve is next to impossible.

I've had success in range 15-25 psi, but haven't tried outside this range.
This is with the Clippard needle valve and a beer regulator.

thanks guys, I'll turn it upp to 15 PSI and see what happens.

Hoppy: I have the same problem with my checkvalve. I hope this will solve the problem.
