Vitamins? Do you use them? What kind?

I'm contemplating them - but know nothing about it. I figure if I gobble vitamins in the morning, so should my fish. Crazy?

Nope. I would perhaps consider it, if I bred expensive fish, only fed them home made food, and used extremely soft tap water. And even then I would have to think about it.

In college....so no aquariums for a while.....

I put a cheap multi vitamin caplet in my tank every once and a while. The fish seem to like it. They need vitamins just like we do. I know that the fish food already has vitamins in them but they all acted like it was a treat. I don't do it often. I don't want them to OD on them.

Some large cichlid owners (Oscar owners in particular, to prevent Hole in the Head), soak pellet food in liquid vitamins to feed to their fish. They swear by it. I have never tried it with my cichlids, but I do feed them a large variety of foods, including fresh prawns and raw vegetables.
