Ok im not so sure about this but a couple of my fish may have velvet..

Two of my x-ray tetra, who normally have a nice silver body seem to have a showering of little gold speckles on their bodies and under gleams of light it seems its a sort of thin coating of rusty gold.

To add to this, one of my male and one of female guppies blatantly rubbed themselves on the bottom of the gravel..

The tail of the female guppy in a particular angle of light looks worn down but looks fine looking at her normally.

Is this velvet or not? This is really important. Please if you are reading this, post about it tips or suggestions about the disease.

Anyone here? Come on, we all care about our fish so how would you feel if some of your fish were in possible danger? Info appreciated, thanks.

Velvet is not a very common disease, so the fact there are so few replies could reflect few have much experience with it.

I was told that if the fish has that rusty color to it, and it looks as if the fish has cinnamon sprinkle on it, you can suspect velvet.

If you think the fish has velvet, I'd treat it for velvet.
