Bronze Wendth

Hi all! Is it normal for my Bronze Wendth to have roots growing up?

Are you talking about Cryptocoryne wendtii bronze? Roots are white and undergravel. Definately need root tabs. My Crypt balansae has little upper streamers but the main roots are similar to the wendtii.

Yes! Cryptocoryne wendtii bronze. So the roots are searching for nutrients in the water collum instead of finding them in the gravel?

I have bronze wendtii in my tank. I have flourish tabs and another kind of tab under them, and they are growing very well. They do have thin hairy root like stuff all around them. I think it's normal as mine have plenty of nutrients at the roots.

Something like mini roots, but the main roots are white and a lot bigger. They look like most sword's roots for comparison. Probably the water rootlets are searching out nutrients in the water column as well (a guess), but most of the stored nutrients are down in the main substrate roots.
