36W Enough Light for 16 gallon ???

Hi there guys I have a 16 gallon tank with a 36W daylight power compact upon it, now with diy CO2 I do see bubbles coming out of my plants, even amazon swords, now do you guys think that light is enough for rotala macranda and should I go for a CO2 cylinder ?

Cheers, Guys.

It's enough for my 15 high, and then some. Of course, I only have low-light plants. It's doubtful that 36 watts will keep R. macrandra bright red. A CO2 sytem will always be good, I just don't think I could personally justify the cost on such a small tank. Then again, I don't make all that much money, so what I consider a big payment some people consider pocket change.

thanks for your response I actually do use diy co2 and see amazon swords and ludwigia pearling does this mean the light intensity is enough to sustain these plants.

The macrandra will grow I just doubt it would retain that deep red color.
