Will moss from the ground grow in a planted tank?

I'm at my inlaws and they have some nice moss growing. Can I put it in my tank?

I'm absolutely positive you can put it in your tank.

I have no idea how well it will do once it's there though.

TPT says I'm an algae grower... I'd like to think of myself as one hell of a Cabomba farmer.

If it's terrestrial moss, no. If it's aquatic, yes.

There's no way to know unless you can positively identify it.

Tried that stuff. Good for the bottoms of bonsai trees. Does not grow under water
