Ferts for 380g planted

I'm currently adding dry ferts from greg watson in accordance with chuck's calculator. The plants are all doing great, but how often should I be doing this?

That depends on how much light you are running and the type of plants. Stem plants will burn though nutrients much faster than Crypts.

The specs and plants are on that link. I posted this question in that topic but haven't gotten any replies.

There are two 250w MH and two 32w actinics...I actually don't have any cryps in there, all just stem plants and swords.

What's a good way to tell how often you need to add ferts?

Search for information about EI dosing. If you want to use that method you add macro fertilizers 3 times a week and micro fertilizers on the other days. The amounts to add are proportional to the size of the tank. Since you have a tank a bit more than ten times the size of mine your amounts would be a bit more than ten times mine or: 2 1/2 tsp of KNO3 and 3/4 tsp of KH2PO4 three times a week, 100 ml of CSM+B in water mixed at 1 tbsp per 250 ml of water, also three times a week. But, check the writeups here for other lists of dosage amounts, or use a fertilizer calculator such as at the Chuck Gadd site.

For a tank this size, I have a 350, I'd add 2x a week 1 table spoon of KNO3, more if you have a low fish load. I have 700w of MH, 8x55w PC and lots of CO2.

Dose 2x a week and when the plants fill in more, you'll wanna up that to 3x a week or add more fish.

1-1.5 TABLESPS KNO3
1 teaspoon KH2PO4
75mls of TMG/trace
GH, add about 1-2 degrees extra with SeaChem Eq of the GH booster from Greg Watson.

40-60% water change weekly, less as you get better and tweak it.
