As long as you don't overdose it should be fine. I usually recommend spacing out the dosing a few hours apart, as it reduces O2 content to combat algae (can be very stressful on fish if the full dose is applied all at once). Even though Paradise fish have a physostomous bladder (they can burp and inhale atmospheric air), I would space out the dosing just to be sure.

You should be fine, provided you follow the product instructions.

You can ignore the double dosing on water change days, however.

It should be fine. I dose glutaraldehyde (main ingredient in excel) on my tank and have no problems. I house community fish and invertebrates. At one point, I did have a Gourami, which I believe it's closely related to the paradise fish. On a sad side-note, my Gourami died from wounds he got from another fish . Anyway, aquarists have been using glutaraldehyde (main ingredient in Excel) for years with no problem.
