Just Purchased Ferts, Have ??s on Iron

After reading a lot of articles on dosing fertilizers, I have finally purchased Potasium Nitrate and Postassium Sulfate; I plan to use Fleet for my phosphates. I have also purchased the Seachem Multi Test Phosphate kit, so hopefully I'm on the right track. My question is, will I need to dose iron when I have a 95% flourite subtrate? Wouldn't this be enough iron?

In the past when I have added iron to my tank, it created an algae problem. I know there are no test kits for iron. I am new at this, obviously, so any help is greatly appreciated.

My next step is to purchase a pressurized CO2 system, right now I am using a DIY set up.

Yes, iron is still a good idea, as are other trace elements. I suggest you either get Greg Watson's CSM+B wth extra iron, or Tropica Master Gro, which some think works better.

You may not NEED to dose iron, but as mentioned the plantex mixture contains LOTS of other micronutrients which will helpl you out. If dosing Fe creates algae, I would look around for a micronutrient supplement that DOES'NT have any iron in it, not sure if that exists actually.

Also, there are plenty of iron test kits, but the general consensus is that they aren't worth the money for how much accuracy they achieve.
