what do you think?

i had a 20g Long for over a year now. nothing but sand and fake shipreck. as for fish...5 rosie reds, 1 juli.

anyway, i spend most if not all my spare time on my 29 planted tank. my 20 had bad algae and i hated to clean it.

so today i ran out and got me some pepple gravel and spead it on top of my sand. (it would've been a mess trying to take out all of the sand.) anyway, i remove 75% if not more of the water because i end up doikng a major clean. cleand the back of the tank, cleaned all the algae on the glass etc. as far as the filter media i did what i always done, clean them out with old tank water.

anyway, i decided to get some glosso and red fox tail to start and 20g planted tank, by the way i had a 65w 50/50 in the closet and put that on top. i know i will need co2 (have it but its empty at this time)

ok, so will my tank crash? since i did a major w/c? i run 2 AC 200. i did not remove the sand. and put back some shells that was in the tank.

i added some excell for the plants for now. and some leaf zone as directed.

the sand is fine from home depot. and the gravel is "shallow creek stone" med size.

what els should i do to jump start the plants? may some plant pellets?

Thanks
Wil

fertiliser pellets are a good start, bury then just under the substrate and as they dissolve, greedy plants will take in the nutrients straight through their roots.
