Help me save my hc!!

I have emersed hc in a 10g tank with 46 watts of compact fluorescent lighting that I keep on for roughly 11 hours a day. The substrate is floramax. I noticed that even though the hc is growing, it's also yellowing and some leaves are turning black. I also found a little algae on the roots of a few of the clumps I planted. I think the tank is getting too hot because I spead seran wrap on the top of the tank to keep it humid. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thank you!

Is the HC waterlogged ? The water should not come above the substrate.

It's not anymore. I think I had too much water a few days ago so I took some out using a gravel vacuum. It's still yellowing though.

It will take time, just keep it moist and not wet . Within a week or 2 it should start to perk up.

Ok cool. I shuffled around the substrate to get rid of any puddles and replanted the clumps. I also put a fan next to the lights so the tank doesn't get too hot. I think the cause is most likely heat. I peeled off the seran wrap last night and put my hand in the tank it was really hot in there.

You want it humid but not over heated. just poke small holes in the saran wrap to allow the heat to escape but remain humid.
