Exclamation What are these red dots all over my driftwood?

What are they?

Almost look like eggs? I have cardinal tetras, glowlight rasboras, plecos, and cherry and amano shrimp.

I did see a tiny flat ramshorn snail the other day that I haven't seen before

Funny, I was going to post up about my mystery white dots.

Maybe we can kill 2 birds with one stone?

Looks like you are also experiencing some fuzzy fungus growth. I had that for a while, but it went away on its own. I also helped it go away by sucking it off when I did a vacuum of the rest of the tank.

The white goop growing on the wood is safe and will eventually go away.
But no idea what the red is. The white looks like sand bits, but I guess it could be a white fungus or similar that's trying to grow. If it is, it won't get far being underwater and all.

I have red specks in one tank (DW has been in there for 4+ months) and grey spots in another (also in there for 4 months).

I have one growing some sort of fluffy fungus which I am going to remove and wash off soon.. just because it looks bad. I don't think any of that stuff is necessarily harmful.
