Identify this algae

I am in the midst of breaking down a 37G I've had planted before, but has been mostly empty for the last year. Going to empty the tank and start new on a 20g long.

The tank is mostly empty except for a piece of driftwood with java fern on it. want to move one of these pieces to an Oscar tank however I noticed some green, ribbon like, algae growing at the base.

What is this? I don't want to transfer anything over that I shouldn't to the larger tank.

This tank is empty other than a population of MTS.

After googling images, it does look like subwassertang. Guess that's why I couldn't find it on any algae-identifying pages.

What is this stuff? I've never heard of it, nor did I introduce it purposely.

It first appeared about a year ago on a peice of driftwood in the tank that i've since removed. However, it looks as if it jumped over to another peice of driftwood.

It is slow growing though. I guess i need to do some research now.

It's a liverwort, use it like a moss.
