The old tank switcheroo, need input.
So here's what I'm thinking, and try and follow my thinking it's a bit convoluted.
What I wanna do is swap everything in my 10 gallon planted tank to the Aqueon 15 gallon column tank, and sump the 10 gallon tank into my reef for a display fuge, but I have two things I'm trying to figure out.
A. Lighting the Column tank. I've seen people use the stock light on it just fine, which right now (it's my girlfriends mom's tank that she neglects) there is java moss growing pretty well with a over 1 year old bulb that's pretty dim. Saw someone on here mod it to have 13 watt cfls under there too and I'm thinkin like one of those and the stock light might be good if I can figure out how to do it.
B. How big a CFL can you put in a standard ten gallon hood made for 15 watt incandescents without worrying about heat? I have 13 watts in there now but wondering if I can bump them up to like 20's without a problem for the Macros. Not sure if I need to yet but the option would be nice.
Appreciate any input!
