Why are my water hoses get dirty so fast?

These hoses have been running for about 6 weeks. There some brown stuff inside (both inlet and outlet hoses). Is thus normal?

Mine need to be cleaned out about once a month or the flow slows down.

Hi AlanLe,

Probably just diatoms and although unsightly they don't really effect the filtration. I do clean my tubing about every six (6) months with a good 4 foot long brush.
