Question Aquatop CF500UV

Hello Everyone,

I just picked up a used Cf500uv canister filter for my 29g.

i am slowly collecting parts to start a Planted tank.

I would like to know if this is a good canister filter for my set up. I am new to canister filters.

I also purchased seperately a Finnex 30" Ray2 for my lighting.

any feedback is appreciated.

Thanks

Nice start. Make sure to put in PLENTY of plants right from the start and at least dose some Excel. The Ray II is plenty of light. If you cannot afford loads of plants right now, wait until you can. It's better to put in too many from the start and trim back, than not enough and deal with the algae results.

Thanks for feedback guys, I appreciate it.

I installed the CF500 last night and am running it for a few days with my HOB aqueon 20.

All i have to say is WOW what a difference in flow. Its nice to see the little 2 plants i have in there moving side to side. The 2 cichlids i have in there are also loving the spray bar.

Just be careful with only having 2 plants, no CO2 and a Ray 2.
