Importance of tank optimal temperature

Just want to share a story on tank temperature...

Last time I've been having a tough luck growing plants in my tank. With all CO2 injection, lighting, fetilization and such I've only able to grow several types of plants. I cant even grow java moss

Then it struck me. The factor of tank temperature. I've been running the tank in 29 C+.

So I end up using DIY freezer chiller and brought down the temp to 25-26 C. I cant believe my eyes for the first several days. My plants are looking better than ever. Fresh and green. My java fern are shooting a sudden amount of child plants which grows faster than ever. I tried some java moss and it adapts grows instantly. I can grow a wider range of plants in the colder water.

So is the importance of setting one's tank temperature right at the optimum level.

Sounds like a very interesting question! Could different plant distributions in tanks have different temperature optima for best growth? It's not hard to imagine that a few degrees one way or the other might make a big difference in an enclosed, highly driven system like a brightly-lit CO2 aquarium. Mostly I've just seen folks say any temp in the range x->y will work OK. Is this really known to be the case for plant growth (not fish health)? Have people played around with temperature change when they're having problems of one sort or another and found that it's just not important?

The general wisdom I've read is 24-25C.

Very interesting...I'm in the process of turning the heat up in my tank to prepare it for some discus...basically to judge what plants I currently have will survive higher temps...used to have it around 78 now its around 82 and everything seems fine.
