Is GH Booster from GLA and Aquariumfertilizer.com the same?

Hi,

I usually get GH booster and other dry fert from Aquariumfertilizer.com. GLA is about a buck cheaper.

Do I dose GH booster the same, regardless of which place it comes from? Any diffs in the other ferts?

Thanks,
growitnow

Hi growitnow,

Actually, there is no way of really knowing for sure unless you ask for their specific formulas (ingredients and quantities) which I doubt they will provide. I believe that aquariumfertilizer.com continues to use the same formula offered by Greg Watson. I can't remember for sure but I believe that Tom Barr said in his talk at GSAS that he was involved with the original formula as well.

Speaking with Orlando several times via email and also posting on the GLA sponsored forum with questions the booster sold there is virtually the same as the Seachem product but a much finer grind.

used it now for several years

Hi All,

I agree that most of the better GH Boosters contain the following in similar ratios:
magnesium sulfate
calcium sulfate
potassium sulfate

In addition to the three list above Seachem Equilibrium also contains:
iron sulfate
manganese sulfate

Most of us dose iron and manganese either separately or in our micronutrients like CSM+B (Plantex Nurtritrace CSM with Boron added by seller).
