Petco plants

While picking up the old kibble for the dog, I decided to look at the selection of aquatic plants. I noticed they sold plants in plastic tubes with gel around the roots labeled "snail free". Anyone have any experience with these plants?

Hehe both my tanks are infested, despite clown loaches... I can thus avoid these "snailess" scams

SEVERAL of these plants are "non-aquatics" in that they might do ok in a bog tank but might take a week or a month to die in a planted thank.

Buyer beware.

Moved to Tucson.

One of those plants is java fern (Microsorium pteropus). I have 3 wpg in my tank but those ferns wouldnot do well. So be careful with those.

A java fern can live at 3 wpg easy. They actually will proably grow faster with more light, but are more prone to algae, but then again their leaves die when they propagate so i doubt that would be a problem
