giant hairgrass turning brown

i have quite a bit of giant hairgrass in my 55gal and 70% is turning brown and looks like hay.
any ideas on what causes this?

ammonia 0
ph 6.8
3 watts/gal
diy co2
also add KNO3 1/4 tsp daily & flourish every water change.
15gal water change every staurday.

Have you added the plant recently, or did healthy plants go bad?

If it is a newer plant, the odds are that the plant was grown emmersed (out of water) and is in the process of adapting to life underwater.

Leave the plant there, clip off the brown stuff and wait a bit. I think new, submerged growth will appear in no time.

the plant has been in the tank about 2 months now.
it would be hard to cut off the brown parts, because the ones that are brown, are completely brown.
do i remove the entire piece of grass?
