Growth rate question

WHen someone says a plant grows fast, medium, or slow what exactly does that mean. I mean I know what it means, but I am wondering in inches per week.

Thanks in advance

It depends on alot of factors- Light, ferts, CO2, I would say that fast is several inches a week-i.e. trim weekly- med. maybe 1-3 inches trim everyother week- slow- like anubis new leaf every few weeks. Again it will vary how it will grow in your tank, some fast growers me be medium

I dont think it really works like that. Some plants cant really be measured in inches per day; or at least it would be extreamly hard to do. You just gotta accept that fast means fast, and slow means slow. And like bigstick said, depends on ferts, light, co2 ect...

You could compare diffrent species of plants together and define what fast and slow means better. EG, anubas grows alot slower than java fern, java fern grows slower than wisteria, ect...
