peat moss co2

Im wanting to purchase two gbr that require softer water. But If i have hard water, i have read that using peat moss lowers pH. But if iim using diy co2 and using peat moss two..is it possible to get an accurate reading for kH, pH and amount of co2?
Others say using RO water would be better but I no nothing about RO when using co2 and the effects it has in my tank.

Any ideas?

Lowering the PH wont make any difference to water hardness. Depending on your KH peat may not make a measurable difference to PH either.

RO water is the best way forward.

is it possible to use 50% RO and 50% tap water.
And if so, i know tap water usually has the nutrients for plants, will i have to supplement or is 50% tap water ok?
