Does any one have an open top tank? Or know anything about them, or have any links, etc? I'm thinking of doing an open top 20 gallon with a 55 watt PC. Does that sound OK? Do you think a lot of fish might jump out?

Thanks

Nah,

just don't buy fish that are prone to jumping :hehe:

My LFS store has an open tank in the front of the store with tall plants growing out of the water, and the coolest thing is some of them will flower outside the water.

It's awesome!

my 55g is i guess open top to an extent.....my canopy is 12" high but with a 2" over-hang around all sides of the tank to keep jumping cats from knocking it over.....havent had any problems which jumping fish....but i dont think i have any "long jump" fish......and as a side note....one of my reasons for having such a high canopy is i am wanting to put some emersable (if thats a word) type plants above the lights and hopefully have their roots grows down to the water surface......anyways thats one of my weird little dreams.....goodluck

I love having no top on my tank... but the fish have to know in my house...

* If You Jump,You Die*...simple :hehe:

I refuse to let a suicidal fish stop me from my pleasure of looking down into the tank...
That 125 must be awesome Vince ! I have a friend who has a beautiful 125G Cichlid tank set up but I just cant help but envision planting it !
