URGENT HELP NEEDED! Fish are gasping (part 2)
I planted a new 10 gal tank on Saturday.
DIY C02 as of yesterday.
Put fish in as of an hour ago
8 of 9 tetras raced to the surface gasping for air
The 9th tetra goes up for air periodically... still in tank
I can only see one of 2 panda Cory’s – he’s at the bottom, breathing heavy in planted tank
M.I.A. is octo algae eater
Ammonia = 0.5
N03 = 5ppm.
kH = 90 ppm
pH = 6.2
C02 = 94.6 (peat substrate make C02 reading incorrect I hear)
The 8 of 9 tetras at the top were getting disoriented. Swimming sideways and upside down. I scooped them out in a hurry and plopped back into their original tank.
The original tank has what I believe is beard algae - so now I've probably infected my newly planted tank (got some in with the fish by mistake)
Have likely stressed and potentially killed my fish… though they seem relieved to be in their old home.
What the heck did I do wrong?
