Do your Otos come out at nite?

My Otos used to be out all day long. For the past several months I've noticed they hide all day. What's the deal? Do they become nocturnal with maturity?
Do your Otos hide out in the daytime?

Any recently added otos in my tank have always been visible all the time for around a month or two, then they all seem to congregate in the same hiding place during the day and only move from there at night.

I think it just has to do with the otos gradually becoming familiar with the tank and all of its nuances until they sort of establish a set routine.

If by Otos you mean Otocinclus (O-cats, for those unfamiliar), I've had some that hid a lot and others that were pretty visible. I think some of it may have to do with what other fish are with them, and somewhat to do with how much you are around and in the tank.

I've got around 8 or so in my one tank and I have noticed
that usually during the day (High Lights on) they are visually not to be seen. At night and at low light they come
out in a pack or small group.. Actually kind of neet!!!

I saw an oto in my heavily planted 45 about 3 days ago. It was my first oto sighting in about 2 months. I have no idea how many I have in the tank. I never see them.

Never figured out where all my Otos had gone until I installed a "moonlight". Now, in the blue CCFL light, I can watch them darting through the water at night. Looks like they are having a party!
