Starter Plants

Hi all, I'm setting up a new tank and needed specific type of plants that will make good starters... I guess any type of the Hygro's will work well?

Im just looking for plants which will cycle the tank well and would be easy to care for.

Im in Hawaii so I will be mail ordering the Plants in. I was thinking of a pre-sorted assortment of plants, that the company has, but would rather get specific ones for now.

How do I know how much to order?

Here is what I have:

Set-up: 55Gal tank, 260W of CF Coralife freshwater light, CO2 pressurized set-up to run when lights are on, ehime 2217 canister filter, eco-complete...
I will dose the E.I. method

Water: Only have access to rain water, which is pure and very soft...

Sorry Im sure this has been asked before but I honestly tried searching before posting. with no much luck.

Thanks in advance.

(also if anyone is in Hawaii and knows where I can get plants from please respond!)

Looks like time to give Rexs site a plug

This is a great place to get you started, ive linked to the page which explains cycling with plants and what plants to use, but read the rest as well, its all in there, all you need to know to get you well on your way to a very good start.

Thats a lot of light you are useing so make sure you have plenty of plants in there in the beginning.

Good luck with it
