Mine have freakishly long ones like this too. I looked for snail anatomy pics online, but I'm still unclear on what the thing is.

Pretty sure it's the breathing tube/siphon.

He was super active all day yesterday. The thing between his antena (I'm asuming mouth) got super long and I could see something under the skin moving.

Yup, the tube is a syphon. It's what a snail (and other related beasties) use to breathe under water.

My big Ivory Beast used to extend his siphon all the way from the bottom of the 2.5 to the surface.

I wish I had gotten a pic of that!

That sounds disgusting, and at the same time, eerily cool.

Yes, yes it was.

I moved him to the Spec V 5 g.

It's more oxygenated and deeper, so he doesn't need to do/can't do the telescoping siphon thing any more.

Mine had his extended about 2 1/2 inches when I woke up this morning, I tried to get a picture but I guess he's shy. Anyone know what I saw under his skin when he extended his mouth? It was dark and kind of pulsating. Any way to sex a snail?

I think most snails are hermaphrodites, but I could be mistaken.

Many snails are; however apple snails are heterosexual and need male and female specimens to reproduce.
