Slimy white redidue on surface
Hi guys, I have a new setup. Water has been in the tank for 1-2 weeks now. All I have in the tank is some wood, rock and ADA Amazonia.
I did a 50% water change yesterday and use API's water conditioner to dechlorinate, first time I've used this product, I usually use Prime.
Since the water change I've noticed a build up of this white slimy residue on the surface. Its broken in tiny slimy flakes. When I manually agitate the surface it kind of clumps together. Its also on the sides of the glass round the surface and it feels like soap!?
I know the ADA AS is leeching ammonia could this be the cause? A build up of bacteria? I'm sorry but I havent got round to purchasing a water testing kit so I'm not sure of my parameters at the moment.
EDIT: I forgot to add the water is crystal clear other than this residue.
