Newbie help

Hey guys I have a 14g tall tank. And I have some live plants. I also added some Eco-complete and root tabs. But I have a question. What do you guys recommend for lighting? I have a t8 flora sun but idk if there is something that you guys know is better or anything I can/should do to help the plants thrive. Thanks!

what is the length of the tank? Is it the same foot print as a 10 gallon but 4 inches taller? My first thought would be an LED goose neck fixture. I think a 2 lamp T5 will be too much light for that depth tank unless you hang it a foot above the tank. With a single T8 bulb like I think you have (standard 20" hood) you can keep very low light plants, like moss and java fern and a few other low light plants.

Yes it's the size of a 10g just taller. So the t8 isn't enough light for my tank? And is bad if I have to much light?

Are you going for the planted aquariums or a fish tank with some plants in there?
What my opinion is that if you are ging for the planted aquarium with a dozen of fish or living things in there, you need better light fixture, but if you are going for a fish tank with a handful of plants, and dont want to spend bucks on light, go for plants that dont need lots of lights (i.e Anubis).
Good luck!

I'm wanting to go with a planted aquarium. This is gonna be my smallest. I plan on getting a huge tank but wanted to start with this for my puffers and shrimp. Is there any specific lighting fixture you would recommend?thanks
