In preperation

So I have a 90g high tech heavily planted tank. I have a 48 inch t5ho raised 2.5 inches running two bulbs 7 hours a day and CO2. i dose EI. I need to send my regulator in to be fixed. I will be gone up to 14 days. I have excel on hand. What should I do with my lighting and ferts while the reg is gone? Should I dose the excel as instructed on the bottle? Thanks

Cut the lighting back to 4hrs and 1/2 dose is what I've done for vacations.

no, I use controllers so the CO2 is on auto pilot. but 2-3 weeks away creates jungles so I want the plants to slow down.

1/2 dose instructions for the tanks and the fish get fed every 3 days

CO2 is as we all know a big driving force for plants. Cutting that off, will make your plants slow way down in growth and prevent an accidental gassing of any livestock. I would cut ferts by 1/2, and do a 50% waterchange before leaving and upon returning, cut off CO2 completely, and reduce the light duration.

I am going to send the regulator out next week. don't feel like taking it off tonight. Guess I will just reduce the light and ferts. I will also add excel as directed by the bottle.

No thanks. Don't think it would do much for my 90g plus I am spending enough already.
