What do I need to help with red color in plants?

I think light intensity and KNO3 helps with the red colors. Do I need anything else to bring up the red color in my plants?

I haven't messed much with this yet, but Roger Miller mentioned something in a forum the other day that I thought was interesting. We were talking about heavy daily Excel use and how that seems to make certain plants really red. Roger theorized that heavier C levels in relation to NO3 levels might make plants produce more red. Based on that, when I get around to trying it, I'll crank my CO2 to 40-50+, drop my NO3 levels to 10 ppm, and see what happens.

If you give it a try, please report back your findings!
Brian.

Well I'm no expert but I think iron will bring out reds also. Low nitrates, high iron? Hopefully the experts will tell you for sure.

Edit: lol while I was typing my response the others managed to ninja post in front of me so never mind :P

Thanks to all Ninjas and Non-Ninjas. I have 20ppm CO2 and 20ppm nitrates currently. I will reduce the nitrates to 10ppm and see what happens.

The high CO2 idea may be how I'm getting pretty good red coloring in my tank. I dose via EI, so my nitrates are around 15-20, but my PO4 is a skyrocketing high 4-5 out of the tap. Maybe my high phosphates, tons of plantex, and high co2 gives me the good color...my co2 is about 48-60 ppm.

Re-boot!
