How to control algae?

Just wondering what you folks do? Should I put in a algae control liquid? 60 gal planted -correct lighting,20 % water change once a week,tetras,mollys,ect.Carbo-plus c02 unit (yeah I know,but for now thats all I have) Any input would be great. Thanks,

Controlling algae is really about having healthy plants. If you have healthy growing plants, your algae will have a tougher time getting started. I wouldnt put anything in the tank to kill algae. What you can put in the tank is ferts for your plants and Co2. If you give us a full description of your tank.....

I use the "siesta method". 5 hrs of light, 1 hr of darkness, another 5 hrs of light. It is supposed to help with the algea problems.
