Using peat moss

When your using this? are you looking for like the mulch stuff? or would the live moss also work for lowering ph?

You're looking for Spagnum peat moss, just the stuff that looks like loose dirt. Don't get any miracle grow crap or anything as they add all kinds of extras to it.

Here is where I get mine and what it looks like.

20g platy, , 2 x 10g shrimp, 3 x 20g shrimp, 7.5g shrimp and 1 great dane/mastiff puppy.

This is related to the set-up I'm planning. I was planning on using a base of sphagnum peat moss with a cap of fine black sand to grow a carpet of glosso (or something similar).

I actually did pick up a bag of the Miracle Gro Enriched sphagnum peat moss. Can I still use it or should I return it?

Bump! I've also read you can mix peat moss with soil aaaand something else which I can't remember...
