Sick Smudge spot Cory. HELP!

While checking out my tank tonight, I noticed that one of my Smudge Spot Cories was sitting idle on a rock and that he had these weird white patches on the side of his body. It also looks like his gills are a bit red as well. This is a well established tank (year and a half old) and I have never had any issues with disease/sickness other than a slight case of Ich about a year ago. I am looking for help on diagnosis and treatment recommendations. Any help would really be appreciated!

any rough edged rocks? Looks like a scrape. Do more frequent water changes and keep an eye for secondary infection (tufty look to the wound). I fyou see it not improving, might move it to qt to keep an eye and then if signs of secondary infection are present, reevaluate treatment then.

Thanks for the advice! I already do weekly 50% water changes on Sundays. I am hoping it is just a scrape from a rock or driftwood branch. With that said, I am going to dose Melafix for a few days to help w/ healing and keep an eye on it. Fingers crossed!!!
