Mystery in the substrate

I was rinsing out some substrate (Eco-Complete)that got sucked up during a water change and noticed something odd. There are these things that are about the size and color of mustard seeds mixed in. Does anyone have any idea what they are? When I squeeze them, they burst and appear hollow. I have crypts, anubias, aponogeton for plants; and nerites, assassins, danios, guppies, and one loach for critters.

definitely sounds like osmocote. I've never seen that in eco-complete unless i put it in there, though.

are they eggs? a lot smaller than swollen osmocote... but my corydoras eggs, at least, are a light yellow color...

and i do know that danios scatter their eggs over the substrate...

Now I feel like an idiot. I never considered the osmocote.

Thanks everyone!
