Is mixing substrate ok?

I am about to start a 20g long CRS/CBS breeder/grown tank. I have some used (6months old) Aquasoil left from my Mr Aqua 17g. From the looks of it I don't think it will be enough for the 20g long.

I can go buy another 9l bag of Aquasoil but I like the save some money if I can.

The only way to save money is if I buy the 18 lb bag of Fluval flora or Shrimp substrate.

So would it be ok? If not then what could the problems be?

Sure, it's okay. Your old stuff may break down faster than the new stuff so take that into consideration. Other than that, I can't see any problems. Of course, be sure to leach out the ammonia from the new stuff before adding any shrimp.
