Will high nitrites (10+, off the scale) harm plants?

Doing the fishless cycle, got a little overboard with the ammonia at first - a 30 or 40% water change with Primed water got that within reason. A cap full of ammonia now will have the level back to 0 in less than a day. All good there.
Nitrite us staying off the chart on the test, a brighter violet than the 10 on the chart, even after the water change.

Nitrates have started to register a bit.

The question: will the nitrite levels harm plants? (just filled the tank with a bunch i got here on PT, really don't want to risk them)

If yes, what can I do about it? Massive 75% water change?

If it isn't harming them I have no problems waiting for the cycle, even if it takes months. Just can't stand to see the plants die.

+1. The plants may help with the high nitrites.

Plants are fine, but the very bacteria you are trying to grow do not do as well when the nitrite is that high. Do a really large water change to get the NO2 under 5 ppm. Then re-dose the ammonia to 3 ppm max.
