one leaf of java fern

May, 1st
i tied one leaf of javafern and hurt it with a toothpick i just used


put it in my tank. i usually turn on light 6hrs a day
(i leave 5am and come home 4pm after work , the reason i fail planted tank all the time :S)

That's awesome. I had healthy rooted rhizomes that slowly died and here you are growing plantlets with a leaf you shanked with a dirty toothpick

I agree, very cool! Perfect timing for me, too! I'm going to try this with some needle-leaf java fern. Just this week my ever-hungry Buenos Aires tetras decided they would make good eatin'. They've never eaten it before, and I was panicking last night worrying that I might lose it (and I love that plant!)

I think it would do that even if you didn't poke it - you can see the little black spores in the first pic and that is what produces the babies.
