Bubble counter water evaporating?

I just noticed that the water in my bubble counter is evaporating, is this normal? This is my first Co2 setup so I don't know if its normal or now. It has evaporated about half as much as I put in the beginning a month ago.

Normal enough.
Some use mineral oil or glycerin in their counters. Those still end up in the tank, but over a much longer period of time.

My preferred bubble counter is one of the spiral assemblies under the diffuser. No fluids to lose. Your mileage and that of everyone else who will respond, may vary. b-)

I see, looks like I'll be taking out the co2 tube and filling up the counter with water ever 1 or 2 month.

I don't use bubble counter, IME you don't need it once you set it up like you want.
Drop checker and fish gasping is more important.

A lot depends on the design of the bubble counter. I had one where the water would need to be replaced every 2 weeks, and another which is still going strong and its been 3 months since adding the water last.

Yeah, you are right about that. Once it was up I never really need to move needle valve.
