Lily pipe or spray bar

Just wondering what everyone's opinion is? I like the look of the lily pipe but does a spray bar circulate the water better?

Depends upon the dimensions of your tank, the size of your canister and the goal you're trying to achieve. Could you share more details about your setup?

Example: I've got some smaller tanks where lily pipes work well for me and look great. Though, I've got some 20Ls and a 12gal long where spray bars are necessary in order to achieve proper flow in all areas of the tank.

Not all lily pipes are created equally, either, so that's something else to keep in mind.

Setting up a 40 gallon breeder with Aquatop 500uv filter. Haven't decided on substrate yet. Going to be moderately planted.

Spray bars are good for an evenly dispersed, reduced flow. Regular outlet pipes maximize the flow.

So, besides visual aspects, it depends if you are trying to reduce the tornado effect in your tank (go spray bar) or you feel the tank could use a bit more flow (use lily/outlet pipe).
