I thought they were but then since I got them free whether I wanted them or not, I figured they must be something else. I think that will be the way I go if I ever win the lottery.
I got them in one tank and now they have worked their way into three of the four tanks I have left. I got some fish from a fellow who had so many of these that you could not tell what he had started with for substrate. The shells were sticking up like stubble in a field.

I'll take them all. My pea puffer will destroy all of them!

Have you tried feeding MTS to your puffer? I've never had Pea Puffers but my Green Spotted Puffers won't even try to eat them. When I had my Figure 8 Puffer he didn't either. I've read that they break puffer beaks.

Yes, MTS have even infested my brackish tank...

I put in about 75 MTS, call me crazy, but they all hide in teh substrate during the day and when they come out at night my pea puffer is waiting. My tank bottom is littered with empty MTS and ramshorn shells which decompose fairly quickly.

The only snail he hasnt been able to demolish is a big lone olive nerite.

I take some too for my pea puffers if there is any left. I had a bad snail problem, 3 pea puffers later, I never see one. They pick on the shrimp now. I'll take what ever papaj doesn't want.

Let me know.

Nobody has shown to pick them up so they are trashed. I sort them any time I have a tank down and open sand where I can net a bunch and sift it through the net. Once I started to find them running rampant, I tried fighting them with three types of loachs and saw no progress. Now I find if I dip a net in the sand, I will usually find several snails. The dead shells floating around on top of the sand is what bugs me the most. The live snails stay hidden but when they die the shell is light and comes to the top.
