Can you use too much chlorine remover?

Hello,

I use Tetra Aqua-safe to remove chlorines in my tank. The bottle says "top of bottle cap can be used for measuring - fill to inner-ring line to treat 10 gallons or use one full capful for 20 gallons." I use 5-gallon buckets to change my water, so I try to fill the top of the cap halfway to the 10-gallon line, but it's hard to get it right. Does it really matter though?

Usually its fine if there is a bit more. What I do is use a syringe or even get a baby medicine feeder thing from the drug store to measure you how much to use exactly.

20g platy, , 2 x 10g shrimp, 3 x 20g shrimp, 7.5g shrimp and 1 great dane/mastiff puppy.

Most of the time it does not matter. In actual fact they have to build in a bit of "slack" since the amount of chlorine or chloramine at any given point along the line will vary. As the distance from treatment plant to tap is so different and chlorine is used up as it encounters organics, the amount in your water will vary. The dechlor product will take care of a wide range. I think I have read on Prime that it is safe up to ten times the recommended???
