Amazon plant...

I have some very dark spots (looks like some type of algae) on my amazon sword plant's leaves. Any one know what that might be? What would best be the cure for it? Would it hurt the plant if I cut the leaves off?
Thanks!

Won't hurt to cut them off....if its dark green/black its called "green spot algae" and there are three ways to get rid of it once its on a plant:

1. cut the leaf off...other leaves will grow back
2. invest in a rubbler lipped (bulldog) pleco...but you'll risk them rasping too hard on your sword leaves and punching holes in them...and it will take time.
3. increase your PO4 in your fert schedule

Re-boot!
