Dwarf Hairgrass Proper Length after Submerging?

I was reading through some older posts about DHG and how if it was grown emersed, those blades of grass will be magnets for algae after it is submerged. I gave my DHG (e. parvula) a trim to promote new root growth just before I flooded the tank, but I wonder if I cut it enough to prevent (reduce) algae.

This pic is my first planted tank after I flooded it two days ago. Did I trim the hairgrass down enough or should I take a little more off the top?
EDIT: The taller looking grass near the base of the rocks is actually microsword.

Also, I am not currently running CO2 but I am dosing Excel and doing daily water changes this first week. Do you think I'll run into any problems in the next week or two without pressurized CO2? My lighting is just a T8 6500K but it is only 7-8 inches above the substrate, so should put me in the medium light range. More details on the first page in the link below my sig. I do plan to add CO2 very soon.

Sounds like you have a soils plan. Just keep mowing it down and it will get thick and dense.
