HC carpet, PFRs Dwarf Cories and Platies

I was just wondering about breeding these species. Will a thick HC carpet be suitabe coverage for fry? That's my only plant in my 10G and I'd like to keep it that way. There's probably a few nooks and cranies for fry to hide, but do you think fry will survive long enough? I'm looking at the cories and platy, and I want a breeding colony.

It's tough to breed in a community tank. Most of the fry will be snacks for the parents and anything else in the tank.
I've had platies breed in my 55 heavily planted community tank and only 2 fry survived. When I put mommy in her own tank and removed her when the fry dropped, I had nearly 60 survivors from one spawn.

Havent had any luck with my cories yet....

Invest in a 5gal for breeding, My dwarf cories liked cooler water (70-75F) when they started to go spawn crazy. Keep it a one species community tank until frys are relatively large, then proceed with breeding the platies in 5g.
