I'm not getting the growth out of the Jungle Val like I wanted or the crypts and swords down in front. Haven't had any new leafs on the anubias either but the roots have been growing.

I put about 3 Osmocote Plus pellets near each plant. I'm afraid of putting too many and poisoning my shrimps and fish.

Vals don't grow like everyone says they do unless they have CO2 gas injection. Don't use Excel as an alternative, though, cause there's nothing vals hate worse...

What a bummer! I wanted it to more or less surround the stump sorta. I guess I should have used the anacharis for that! lol That stuff grows like no other.

I know it's not as great as CO2 pressurized injection, but you could always try the DIY CO2.

I hadn't planned on it at all when I set up my 55. Got bored one day last week and decided to give it a go, simply for a trial period. Didn't expect too much from the DIY results... but now I'm already planning on getting a pressurized system heh.

Within two days of having it set up, had dwarf sag runners and new rotala coming up all over the place. My swords are going crazy, as are my anacharis. And so green too!

I like the look of this tank. It kind of reminds me of some of the sandy streams and intracoastal areas near my home.
