Mts??

So I recently started a new planted tank (my first) and I added some snails from my LFS thinking they were the correct kind. I wanted MTS but I'm not sure I got the correct kind. The snails i got have conical shaped shells BUT seem to have two "antennae" on their heads as opposed to what a "normal snail" body would look like. Most of the video and photos I have seen of MTS do not have this feature. Did I get the wrong kind of snail?

Are they conical, long and skinny. Do they burrow? I'm not sure what you mean by antennae on their heads instead of their body? MTS do have antennae.

Thanks for all the feedback and the pics definitely helped. If those in the pictures are MTS, then I definitely have the correct ones. Mine are spot on with those pics, but I haven't seen too many burrow as of yet. Most are on the sides and covering the surface of the sand. Some have found their way on to plants, but there's no indication of them eating the plants themselves yet. Thanks again all.

i poured bleach into my tank. i still have survivors, 500 ml of excel,
one pool chlorine tablet, 90 degree water. i siphon the substrate out of the tank into the front yard, where it has sat baking in the summer sunlight for 12 hours a day, in the middle of the pile, i can pluck one out and stick it in tap water. two hours later guess what is slithering in the cup. and malaysian trumpet snail

I feel like the topic of MTS becomes a gang war between people that hate them or people that love them XD

MTS do have antenna but will often not really be out of the shell enough to show them if there are fish in the tank, that or they just might take a while to get social and comfortable in your tank

i don't hate them, just hate the fact that they overran my tank. i hated trying to kill them. i feel like it was a waste of life, but they did not fit the design of my ecosystem.

ramshorns were okay because they were eaten on a regular basis and population was controlled. MTS, there is no control
