Leaking clippard Solonoid

So I was re-testing my co2 setup for leaks after my 20 pound tank dissapeared in under a month... Granted I inject a fair amount of co2 but this was a little ridiculous.

This is when I found the co2 was leaking around the tightening ring on the Solonoid. pulled it apart, the little diaphragm disc was not damaged, the Solonoid works, when its off nothing was exiting, just when it was on/ opened. The gasket looked ok, no debris I could see, possibly just not seated right?

Any thoughts? would applying some petroleum to the gasket work and or harm anything?

And it's leaking where the solenoid screws onto the manifold? Or is it leaking from one of the ports?

where the Solonoid screws onto the manifold that little collar piece. only when the Solonoid was in the open position... I am assuming it has something to do with that o ring

Ya, my guess would be the o-ring too. If everything's clean and tight, that's the only place it could leak. Make sure there isn't something keeping it from closing all the way. There's only 2 pieces that are movable in there. It's possible they aren't in the right order, but if memory serves, if you get them backwards, the solenoid won't open. Bust out a magnifying glass and see is there isn't a crack either on the manifold or the o-ring.

What psi are you running at? (Just curious...)

Have to open it up again, didn't get anything backwards it was working lol. can I lube up the o ring with something and not screw anything up?

My operating pressure is only like 10-12psi however I got the one rated up to 100psi

Maybe try some silicon grease. Just a little bit to try and soften up the o-ring again.
