Cleaned out my filter today...

... and found these in my FX5.
Glad I caught these in time. I'd be heartbroken if they were all dead. 66 in the filter, plus what's in the tank, lol.

180g, Fluval FX5, 404, 128watts t-8, low tech, heavily planted, with Albino and reg bristlenose plecs, Congo tetras, Amanos, a herd of Corydoras Sterbai, Boesmanis, a big old common plec, & Otos.
32g tall eclipse3, fluval403, with a handful of bristlenose plecs.

I had 4 or five Corydoras fry in my HOB filter last time I cleaned it. I wonder what it is about catfish fry and filter intakes?

I call my canister "my grow out tank". It's always filled with fry. They seem to get just large enough by when I clean the filter that they can survive on their own when I throw them back into the main tank.

In the FX5, the impeller is the last obstacle they would encounter if they wanted back out, lol. Pump pulls through the media, rather than pushes.

I found a missing cardinal tetra in mine, had been for missing for 2 weeks. He's still very shy though and is pale compared to the others. Poor guy.
